GOP Candidates to Gather at Yet Another Personhood USA Forum Tomorrow
Because hating on women's health never gets old! You would think they'd be exhausted from all of the anti-abortion craze lately, but alas, it looks like most of the remaining GOP candidates will be having another anti-choice hootenanny with Personhood USA to talk about just how badly they'd like to take away your health care.
But that's not all, folks — this is the second Personhood USA-sponsored forum in the last month the candidates have participated in. You know Personhood USA, right? The organization that has not only been pushing oh-so-hard to pass "personhood" amendments in several states, but gladly admits that these amendments would not only ban forms of birth control, but in vitro fertilization as well? And GOP candidates Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, and Rick Perry (who have all also signed a "personhood" pledge, by the way) have taken the time out of their busy schedules to be there with bells on tomorrow evening.
Like all of the other anti-choice events they've been to lately (don't forget Mike Huckabee's Who's-More-Extreme Forum), we predict this one will contain just as much misinformed rhetoric and zero facts about women's heath policy — which is already in serious peril in this country as it is. But the fact of the matter is that the very presence of the candidates at this organization's forum is a reminder of just how warped (and dangerous) they are when it comes to women's health.
And as always, we'll be watching to see what comes of it. We'll be sure to keep you all posted over here.
