New Obama Video on Romney: "This is not the 1950's." Exactly.
The Obama campaign is out with a new TV spot that slams Mitt Romney on women’s health issues.
The ad features short statements by women who express concern over Romney’s extreme positions. From calling Romney “out of touch with the average woman’s health issues…” to pointing out that he can’t “even understand the mindset of someone who has to go to Planned Parenthood,” the ad ends with a woman saying, “I think Romney would definitely drag us back.”

Those women are right, “this is not the 1950’s” and birth control is basic, preventive health care. Women should be able to make their own decisions when it comes to their health issues — which is something President Obama understands, and apparently, former Governor Romney does not.
President Obama has simply and clearly said “nope” to efforts by opponents of women’s health to defund Planned Parenthood. He understands the health and economic challenges women face and has fought to address them. He has expanded health care for women, including preventive care like cancer screenings and access to birth control without co-pays.
In contrast, Mitt Romney has pledged to “get rid” of Planned Parenthood, denying women
access to birth control and cancer screenings. He has promised to end the nation’s family planning program, which provides preventive care to nearly five million women, and has supported legislation that would cut off access to birth control for women who need it the most.
But to know how extreme Romney is you only have to look to his support of extreme personhood legislation — which could ban common forms of birth control and IVF — and the fact that he wants to overturn Roe v. Wade and end access to safe and legal abortion.
When it comes to women’s health, the choice between President Obama and Mitt Romney couldn’t be starker.
