Romney Surrogate Calls Obamacare Harmful...Time to Check the Facts

Romney campaign surrogate, Carly Fiorina, claimed that like the U.K. and Canadian systems which “don’t focus on prevention and aggressive detection,” the new protocols of Obamacare would “have been very deleterious to my personal health.”
Really? Maybe she should take a refresher course of what Obamacare actually does.
Since the health care law was passed, more than 45 million women have received preventive care without co-pays. That’s more than 27,000 women every single day receiving coverage for preventive services such as well-woman exams, Pap tests, and yes, mammograms. Fiorina tried to bolster her claim because she is a breast cancer survivor herself. She should appreciate the fact that insurance companies not only have to cover mammograms and other preventive care without co-pays, but they can no longer deny coverage to patients because of pre-existing conditions like cancer.
It’s time for Fiorina to check the facts, and time for Mitt Romney — who has already said he would repeal Obamacare on day one — to denounce these false claims and fearmongering.
