Women are Watching Bus Tour: A 5,000-Mile Journey to Protect Women's Health

| Heather H.

We’re taking this show on the road!

Planned Parenthood Action Fund is hitting the road to protect women’s health on our 2012 Women are Watching bus tour. Starting off in New Hampshire and ending in Charlotte, North Carolina, we’ll be zigzagging across the country, stopping in 11 different states in only 17 days to make sure voters know what’s at stake for women’s health in November.

So why are we making this 5,082 mile trek?

With a presidential candidate who said he would “get rid” of Planned Parenthood, wants to let your boss decide whether you can get access to affordable birth control, supports dangerous “personhood” amendments that could ban some forms of birth control and fertility treatments, and wants to overturn Roe v. Wade, we can’t afford to sit on the sidelines. No woman can.

Whether it’s Governor Rick Perry in Texas, Governor Nikki Haley in South Carolina, or the Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, we’ve seen firsthand the people who are being hurt by the extreme and dangerous policies promoted by opponents of women’s health and we know why this election matters so much. During our bus tour, voters will hear directly from women in their communities who have been hurt by the policies that politicians like Mitt Romney support.

It’s time to take a stand and let these politicians know that women are watching, and they will decide the election in November. We won’t let them turn back the clock on our health and our rights!

We’ll see you in Concord, New Hampshire, tomorrow. Ready to get on the bus? Check out our *NEW* Women are Watching Tumblr.
