In a statement sent from Congressman Denny Rehberg's spokesperson he says, "when Senator Tester and Planned Parenthood are busy fundraising and playing politics, Denny will continue to support improving quality health care access for all Montanans." (KPAX.com, 4/20/2012)
Who we're watching
“Congress should not proceed to implement new, incredibly expensive entailment programs at a time when our country’s credit rating has been downgraded, we are threatened with another downgrade, we are trying to save the entitlement programs already in place, we are going bankrupt, and we continue to receive warnings from every quarter that our current path is unsustainable. American families know this. To use a simple analogy, they know that if they are deeply in debt and cannot afford to pay the loans on their home and car, they should not buy an expensive vacation home.”
About Denny Rehberg (MT)
Now he’s running for U.S. Senate – we can’t let him get that far.
At the beginning of 2011 when women’s health and family planning was under attack, Denny Rehberg didn’t just stand with the mob, he led the change.
As chair of the relevant appropriations subcommittee, Rehberg put forward a budget that would have slashed effective and reliable women’s health programs at a time when families are already struggling to makes ends meet. Millions of women would have had restricted access to preventive care through public programs, and insurance coverage through Affordable Care Act exchanges would have been prohibited from covering abortions.
Rehberg’s budget would have eliminated funding for the Title X National Family Planning Program. And when he tried to justify it, Rehberg misled Montana voters and falsely claimed that family planning services were losing billions of dollars by duplication between Medicaid and Title X services.
Also absent from that explanation was the crucial role family planning organizations like Planned Parenthood played in rural communities.
He has supported abstinence-only education funding, despite the overwhelming number of studies showing its ineffectiveness, and opposed the Affordable Care Act, despite the enormous benefit Montana families served to gain.
This, from a man who believes buying health insurance is akin to buying an expensive vacation home.
It’s telling that Rehberg has the full endorsement of the Family Research Council Action, an organization that’s one of the most hostile toward women’s health.
But with your help, he won’t get the endorsement of Montana women.
Montana is going to be a political hotspot in 2012, with millions of dollars flowing into the state on behalf of Rehberg. His opponent, Senator Jon Tester, is a proven advocate for women’s health and has represented his constituents with courage and conviction.
Women in Montana and across the country are watching, and know that Denny Rehberg is no Jon Tester when it comes to women’s health.

Rep. Denny Rehberg talks Obamacare funding with Gerri Willis on Fox Business Network "The House already passed legislation to repeal Obamacare, fulfilling the promise we made to the American people. Democrats in the Senate haven't listened. They voted against the will of the people. But in this country, the power is with the People. So we'll fight Obamacare in the courts. We'll fight it in the state legislatures. We'll fight it in the House. We'll defund Obamacare one piece at a time. My amendment prevents funding from being used to implement Obamacare while we continue to work for a full legislative or judicial repeal." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4tYThstQfs
More Quotes from Denny Rehberg
In his letter to the supercommittee, chairman of the House Appropriations Labor-HHS subcommittee Denny Rehberg said he would cut two programs out of the ACA: Medicaid expansion and subsidies to help consumers buy insurance. Well now he's introduced legislation to do just that and added a third program to his chopping block wish list: that's right, repeal the CLASS Act. "We can't afford these incredibly expensive new programs when we are struggling to find ways to fund and save the existing programs like Social Security and Medicare. If we act decisively and stop these programs before they start - before a single dollar or benefit has been paid out - the social and economic impact of their elimination can be avoided," Rehberg said in a statement. The Montana Republican estimates the legislation would save $1.3 trillion, but the bills are still pending an official CBO score. (Politico Morning Score, 10/25/11)
